Indexes

The Poetry Resource Probably the best general poetry index in the world, though less extensive than Zuzu's Petals and less scholarly than 20th Century Poetry in English. Mr. Martin has created a manageable index by selecting some 600 websites carefully and providing brief descriptions.

20th Century Poetry in English is an index consisting of extensive pages for 11 Modernist poets, along with annotated links to 140 others, prepared by Professor Eiichi Hishikawa at Kobe University. The pages on Ezra Pound, T. S. Eliot, and Robert Frost are particularly good.

The Open Directory contains an excellent series of links to various poetry sites.

LitLine provides a regularly updated set of links to all things literary on the web.

A Literary Index One of the best lists of the Internet's scholarly resources, under the aegis of Vanderbilt University. It provides annotated links, to the more academic websites.

NewPages is an index to independent bookstores, publishers, literary periodicals, news weeklies and the like.

Zuzu's Petals The Yellow Pages of literary sites, with more than 7,000 links to publishers, on-line magazines, and individual poets. Like all exhaustive directories, it can be helpful and infuriating; know what you are looking for before you enter.

The Electronic Poetry Center This index, maintained by the State University of New York at Buffalo, provides an eclectic list of resources for the reader, focusing on contemporary and experimental sites.
