My practice is that of a sound- walker, listening and reacting to urban, environmental sounds with sung vocal improvisation, often using texts. The act of walking is an ordinary one from which the extraordinary can be derived.

These walks are documented by audio recordings, "found objects" from the location, handmade books, texts, photographs, written descriptions, and psycho-geographic maps.

The walk by the (no longer existing) River Fleet in London is part of my Urban Song Path project, a series of repeated walks, which attempts to address matters relating to the natural, cultural, and historical origins and uses of a location.

This exploration has developed ideas drawn from acoustic ecology, land art, phonography, anthropology, philosophy of place, and histories of walking and of London.
