About Del Sol Press
Our nonprofit press, Del Sol Press, is produced and directed by WebdelSol.Com. It began when we decided to republish one of the ten most brilliant works ever written in this country, DETOUR, by Michael Brodsky, and make it available to WDS readers. One literary thing led to more children and soon Del Sol Press made sense. Aside from Michael's DETOUR, our three other "launch" titles consisted of a poetry collection by Perihelion editor and Boston Commenter, Joan Houlihan, entitled HANDHELD EXECUTIONS; a collection of mad shorts by writer and columnist Kimberly Nichols entitled MAD ANATOMY; and a best-of anthology from the WDS publication, DIAGRAM, edited by Ander Monson. Since then we've gone on to publish a set of new titles each year, including great new books by Matthew Vadnais, Julianne Buchsbaum, Nin Andrews, and more. DSP seeks to publish exceptional work by both new and recognized writers, as well as republish literary works that we consider extremely significant and that have gone out of print. Our approach is eclectic, but our emphasis is on original, unique, and accessible work WITH AN EDGE. As such, we eschew noncommunicative forms (language poetry rip-offs, Finnegan's Wake imitations, and so forth) and genre fiction (unless exceptional). Discover our titles and look forward to more.
