Heaven

In the center ring all the cherubim and seraphim are hymning.
An unctuous Jesus never stops exuding food.

Lutgard prays on her head and her skirts cling to her ankles.
She can balance a sheep on her shoulder who then sucks

the host from her mouth. John eats locusts. Lions
are tamed by osmosis, and Vitus dances,

tossing hearts excised from the holy: gray dyed red and etched
with words: daily, neighbor, love thy, trouble I, wretched, see.

Little Saint Maria forgives her trespasser: I want him
with me in Heaven. He can't get her out of his head.
