David Surface was born in Kentucky. His stories appear in Crazyhorse, Artful Dodge, North American Review, and in the World Beat Press Anthology Minute Fictions. He has been a fellow at the Macdowell Colony and Dorland Mountain Arts Colony. He lives in New York, where he also works as a musician.
