Kurt Brown is the founder of the Aspen Writers Conference, found of Writers' Conferences & Festivals, editor of numerous annuals and anthologies including The True Subject (Graywolf, 1994) and Night Out: Poems about Hotels, Motels Restaurants & Bars (Milkweed Editions, 1997). His work has appeared in many periodicals, including the Ontario Review, CrazyHorse, The Massachusetts Review and the Indiana Review.
