Mark Stricker

Unauthored Biography

I am tired of every way of saying

Here are my hands at work again.

-- instead, a wire

strummed by birds' feet --

I swallow a litany of expectations,

perpetuate my lethargy.

Remind me where I have touched you.

Here I am

searching peripheries

for every scaffold --

a desire to stumble into traffic.

I have a way of going about this.

It is you I escape through --

the way you rebuild me

I say I don't want.

I say what I have to.

I have something to tell you.

I do not know what is wrong with me.

I am asking around.
