: My curves are pleasing, though subtler than
: within,
: where I am shaped to receive the volute scroll,
: I am lined with red velvet
: for its cohesion
: to blood and matters of the heart; I calm
: the bridge to its strings, wear a handle
: to gravity
: and all appearances,
: I am the friend to the friend of music
: a tuning and two measures away,
: but I have been opened and emptied,
: bow plucked out, too, my fitted bodice,
: to make room for the cold steel of seven men,
: and it's Valentine's Day again.

Utterly captivating until the final two lines, where I am first lost in a clever but vague image and then disappointed by the nod to Valentine's Day.
