There's some nice rhymin' going on in here. A little stiff, but fun!

Clothes and the man/woman. If you can just wear the clothes like you own the space,
you'll fit in anywhere. I often reflect on reading that old desert guru, don Juan,
and he spoke of it. Clothes have power. Great perspective. Great ending thought, the
reflection of personal power. I'd work on the ending to make it read a bit more smoothly.

Enjoyed!

: Carter Family, anyone?

: I saw a fellow yesterday
: who wore a funny hat
: and now you just might ask me what’s
: so very strange in that.

: He wore a long black cloak as well
: that came down to his feet
: and underneath a shirt and tie
: all done up nice and neat.

: His shoes were black and heavy
: with laces in a bow
: and I wondered what it was about
: this man that struck me so.

: A little voice chimed up inside
: and it explained to me
: the hat is the hat of high-mindedness
: and the cloak is hypocrisy.

: Those parts so tidy and precise
: are the collar and tie of hate
: and the shoes of conscience hold him down
: with all their heavy weight.

: A million voices butted in
: that they did not suppose
: that one can tell a person by
: the fashion of their clothes.

: But all those voices must be still
: as they had failed to see
: what I saw was a mirror
: reflecting back on me.
