Reading this is an experience not distant
from receiving a deep-tongued open-mouth
wet Karmic kiss heavy with redolence of
ear wax and between the teeth sludge when
Aunt Farley came from Little Rock with her
two cats and we only just out of junior high
school, instructed to the labyrinths of the
mons veneris only by facing pages in Gray's *Anatomy* -- and when we could window-peek
Sadie Hopaside's bathroom window.

Lawrence said about *The Man Who Died* that
ferns dripping in the rain by a pool's cara-
vanserai made the man think of pussy-- yet
what did he know about it?-- given that in
those days maidens wore corsets without
crotches-- only little peeholes whose rents
turned in time yellow and greeny.

Every kid in fourth-grade knows this.

Or should ...

I like your poem for the reason I was
stimulated to write a response.

I say if the poem is ill-sequenced and given
to making words-- afterall More invented 'Uto-
pia;' Tyndale invented 'scapegoat;' Ben Johnson,
diary; Bacon, 'placid,' Swift, 'yahoo,' Coler-
idge, 'intensify,' Irving, 'all-mighty dollar,'
Twain, 'gossip column,' Catherm 'stuffed-shirt,'
Pound, 'alley cat,' and Dr. Seuss, 'nerd' --
more words yet need inventing to take the place
of words that pass from new invents to old hat.

Delighted,
SBern
