I was going to say cut the first stanza, but H beat me to it. I have one further confusion:

: the stars are the golden section: mean
: figures there is a tattoo: how treelike she
----nice break on mean following golden section and enjambing to figures -- clever play. But I'll say I'm completely bumfuzzled on tattoo.

My first thought is a military tattoo adding dimension to mean figures (no mathematical or khat pun intended) or simply reading as it is "figures there is a tattoo" in conjunction with stars and flowers on the arm. I guess all I can say is I like it. I see a mirrored meaning. But it worries me every time I read it.
