RE. Men Wander Off Like This

For wjneumire.

Frankenstein comes home? The initial premise is so troublesome, even given that we should be generous in accepting it, that it modifies the success of the rest.

I appreciate the rhymes and the notion of order that surrounds this piece. I wish it had a real beginning that could seduce me in.

Best,

Geoff

: Stranded in the north
: Near an icy lake
: I walked the way to shore
: And watched the buoys shake.

: It happens now and then
: That men are swept away
: To places kept from them
: On any other day.

: Men wander off like this.

: I watched the icy slabs
: Broken by the docks
: And saw the bluish scabs
: Seducing all the rocks.

: And a ship was there
: Unanchored on its way
: Tattered sail and spare
: Were all of its array.

: Men wander off like this.

: And forget to come back home: ice, a ship, some
: blue god
: Calling them away. Do not blame me love
: For seeing what I might not have.
