: For Sherry.
: I question why birds must sing for the speaker.
: Most birds don't, I suppose. They're

Howdy Geoff,
Birds certainly sing to me! *L* And, hey, if your cardinals can pose, my little chickadees can certainly be absurd.
: Just experienced a workshop where the whole
: point was a piece about a certain, rare kind
: of finch that sings. I should have suggested
: it be sent to the U.S. Ornithologic Journal,
: if it exists.
I really enjoy birds a lot. I know there's a lot of technical theory about how and why they make their vocalizations. And the structure of their throats is fantastic. A bird can sing harmony with itself. Yes, in this poem, I spoke like a lovesick junkie pressing my human perspective on everything.
: This approaches a love song with a heavy ending
: that needs a lighter touch. I feel the
: elements are there for something first rate
: but at present still in the Watch This Space
: stage.
Thanks for reading and commenting, I always enjoy what you have to say.
: Best,
: Geoff
