Mudlark No. 39 (2010)

1 When I meditate, I imagine that I have no internal organs, I am alternately hollow and entirely solid. I am the waxy-white injected molded polar bear I bought from the automated vending machine at the Brookfield Zoo with a handful of quarters. Gentle and smooth. A polyethylene hologram of perfection. Kelley has no such luxury. She has two of everything. Two sets of kidneys, two sets of ears, two sets of eyes. Two noses, two livers, two hearts.
