Gary Hawkins:
Gary Hawkins is a poet and essayist who aspires to the stage. Poems from his manuscript Paradise for the Rest of Us have appeared in born magazine and Virginia Quarterly Review. His Essays and reviews often explore rhetorics and genres: liberating syntax in Dickinson or Creeley; the manifesto as emancipating form. Currently he is collaborating to design a recurrent anthology of poetry. Present will offer beauty as a lyric emergence from the everyday and will arrive in a unique letterpress and mixed-media edition that merges the transcendent lyric with tactile experience. Twice a fellow at the Krakow Poetry Seminar, he now teaches in the University of Oklahoma's Expository Writing Program.
