Toni Brown holds a B.S from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters of Education from the University of Massachusetts. Sun sign: My sun sign is Scorpio, my son's sun sign is Aries, My son's son's sun sign is-oh lets just stop it now. Favorite flick: Head and Dogma. Favorite book: The one I'm currently writing with my best friend Peg (Title: The Book). My other favorite books are The Lord of the Rings and The Stand, and Lucille Clifton's Blessing the Boats. Is that too many favorites? Shoe size: NO! Is Nothing SACRED!!!! Ever been arrested? You know those little dwarfs on people's lawns? well if you sit on the....never mind. Nickname: Toni Any pets? Zen (the sainted) dog: deceased german shepherd. (nicknamed: drooly girl; sweetie; zenster). Favorite drink? the juice that comes in the olives stuffed with garlic jars and gin- shaken not stirred. Do you use toothpicks? yes-for the olives after the juice is gone. Diner of choice: Bobs in Manayunk Vegetarian or meat lover? MEAT!!!!!! Pet peeve? The blood that drools from between my lips when I've had too much meat. Best memory? Too much meat. When I was five...I would often hold up my hand, fingers spread and say, "I'm fiveyearsold." Last night… my lover and I went out to buy gum. When I woke up this morning… my lover was gone and there was gum in my hair... Favorite food? MEAT!!!! no really meat and lemon sorbet and garlic and Chinese dumpling sauce. Not all together of course. And fruit. And olives. Best time to call? When I'm not home. I'll call you back. Secret ambition? To just give one answer when someone asks me my favorite Thing, and to succeed Baraka as the NEW New Jersey Poet Laureate. Oh, I can't. Never mind.
