  VISITING EDITOR: Jennifer Cande 

Jennifer Cande is co-editor of "Quick Fiction," a widely acclaimed new journal of short-short fiction that has already published the likes of James Tate, Morton Marcus, and Dinty Moore. Jennifer Cande obtained her BFA in Creative Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson, and her own work has appeared or is forthcoming in PARAGRAPH, PINDELDYBOZ, and SUDDEN STORIES: A MAMMOTH ANTHOLOGY OF MINISCULE FICTION.


  WORKSHOP LEADER: Cynthia Gregory 

Cynthia Gregory won first prize in the 2002 RED ROCK REVIEW short fiction contest, and second place in the Writer's Digest 2001 Short Fiction competition. She has an MFA and her work has appeared in such publications as THE EAR, THE SANTA BARBARA REVIEW, BLACK RIVER REVIEW, BRIARCLIFF REVIEW, THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE, HERB QUARTERLY, and BON APPETIT. She resides in the Bay Area with two geriatric Bichons and teaches the art of composition to college students. Ms. Gregory is currently at work on a collection of short stories, called "Amen, Baby."


 CHIEF POETRY EDITOR/INSTRUCTOR: Joan Houlihan 

Joan Houlihan is the author of HAND-HELD EXECUTIONS, POEMS & ESSAYS. She teaches poetry workshops in Concord, Massachusetts and is editor-in-chief of PERIHELION magazine and senior poetry editor of DEL SOL REVIEW, both published at webdelsol.com. Her column on contemporary poetry, THE BOSTON COMMENT, also appears on this site as well as on Arts and Letters Daily. Her poetry publications include: THE GETTYSBURG REVIEW, BOSTON REVIEW, POETRY INTERNATIONAL, HARVARD REVIEW, MARLBORO REVIEW, and BLACK WARRIOR REVIEW (which includes her chapbook, OUR NEW AND SMALLER LIVES), among others. Her article describing Web del Sol, "Literature Without Borders," appeared in the Nov/Dec 2001 issue of Poets and Writers magazine. Her work has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize.


 VISITING EDITOR/WRITER: Thomas E. Kennedy 

Thomas E. Kennedy has published several books of fiction including KERRIGAN'S COPENHAGEN, A LOVE STORY, and DRIVE DIVE DANCE AND FIGHT STORIES. His nonfiction books include four works of literary criticism (including book-length studies of the short fiction of Andre Dubus and of Robert Coover) and several anthologies. Earlier in 2002, his REALISM AND OTHER ILLUSIONS, ESSAYS ON THE CRAFT OF FICTION was published, and in 2003, the second of his four-novel COPENHAGEN QUARTET, BLUETT'S BLUE HOURS, was published. The third is scheduled for publication in autumn of 2004. His work has won many awards including the O Henry and Pushcart. He serves as Advisory Editor for THE LITERARY REVIEW, International Editor for STORYQUARTERLY and POTPOURRI, and Contributing Editor for DEL SOL REVIEW.


 VISITING AGENT: Jeff Kleinman 

Jeff Kleinman is a literary agent and attorney with the prestigious east coast agency of Graybill & English in Washington, D.C. His recent sales include THE GROVE to Warner Books for six figures and bonuses, film options pending. Also, Ron McLarty's MEMORY OF RUNNING, was recently sold by Jeff to Viking/Penguin for over $2 million. As an agent, his taste varies widely. An interview with Jeff can be found here.


 ADVISORY POETRY EDITOR: Fred Marchant 

Fred Marchant is the author of TIPPING POINT, winner of the 1993 Washington Prize in poetry. His second book, FULL MOON BOAT, was published last year by Graywolf Press. Forthcoming is HOUSE ON WATER, HOUSE IN AIR, a new and selected poems, from Dedalus Press, Dublin. He is a professor of English and the director of the Creative Writing Program at Suffolk University in Boston. He is also a teaching affiliate of the William Joiner Center for the Study of War and Social Consequences at UMass-Boston, and is on the Executive Board of PEN-New England.


  CHIEF FICTION EDITOR/INSTRUCTOR: Michael Neff 

Michael Neff is Editor-in-Chief of Del Sol Review, the founder and director of WEBDELSOL.COM (#10 in the Writer's Digest Fiction Top 50 and the largest publisher of periodical contemporary literature in the U.S.) and the founder and director of ALGONKIAN WORKSHOPS. He is publisher of several national literary magazines at WEBDELSOL including IN POSSE REVIEW, DIAGRAM, LA PETITE ZINE, 5_TROPE, and DEL SOL REVIEW. His own work has appeared in THE LITERARY REVIEW, NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW, MUDLARK, QUARTERLY WEST, PITTSBURGH QUARTERLY, CONJUNCTIONS, AND AMERICAN WAY MAGAZINE. In 2001, he served as the Writer's Digest Finalist Fiction Judge. Currently, he is looking for short ficiton and original novels to publish, and/or place with agents and film producers.
